I saw those things at the farm supply store a few days ago, almost got one or two.

I just finished candling all of my eggs. I pulled 19 infertile or early quitters, which leaves 49 in the incubator. Lockdown tomorrow night!

I ended up with 51 in LOCKDOWN. So far it's been a productive hatch. Got me some more cute little birds!

@Cedar Creek Farm Lady I'm in love with them! Sorry I wasn't on last night, I passed out so early because I lost all 21 of my chicks I thought they were too big to fit through the chain link. Once one went through... All 20 followed.

I called my father because he's an old farm boy and he told me to throw their food down to keep them where they were (under a bush right near the dog kennel). Called DH and he left work. We caught all 21 and put up fencing so they can't get through. After all the excitement I was like this when I saw the bed!

You had me FREAKED plum out with that last post!!! I was thinking "LOST LOST", as in "dead dead". Phew!!!

I was dealing with a scalped little roo last night. Hopefully it'll survive, I know his attacker won't survive once "freezer camp" opens!!!

Still have a few eggs in the bator, one has been pipped since yesterday, and one hatched a few minutes ago. I think that brings me current with 46 so far.
I don't have enough pens!!!

I just got home from the lovely dentist office.
My power is out.


The power company says they are working on getting it back up and they should have it fixed within the next few hours.


I am not worried yet but I feel the worrying coming on.

My power is out.


The power company says they are working on getting it back up and they should have it fixed within the next few hours.


I am not worried yet but I feel the worrying coming on.

I'm worrying for you! I can't wait until this hatch is over and then I don't have to ever worry about the power going out during winter.

We have scheduled power outages in my area! Wooo! (not) This will be the third or fourth one in the last couple of months. Some people have spent over a week without power. I'm so grateful that I'm not in one of the scheduled outage areas.

According to the website this is a scheduled outage so hopefully they have timed the repairs correctly and they do get it back on before I freak out.
