8 weeks today
Will it still hatch? It doesn't look like a lot of blood, but they're so tiny that they don't have a lot.Egg #2 might have just offed himself.
It's hard to catch in a picture but it looks like the dummy hit a vein.
There is new blood along the aircell.

It's still moving so it isn't dead yet. Will it still hatch? It doesn't look like a lot of blood, but they're so tiny that they don't have a lot.
the buttons are almost 4 months old and these are first eggs.....coturnix can lay as early as 6 weeks but i’ve also had some that didn’t lay until 3ish months old.
Hitting a vein generally doesn't cause the death of the chick.Egg #2 might have just offed himself.

i think that has a lot to do with it.....this batch of buttons have been solely indoors and the lighting inside my house is not that great.Do you think shorter days are the issue? My buttons lay at 8 weeks, but lights are on in my house until 10 or 11 at night. They've slowed down some since it gets dark before I get home from work. They don't have light from dark to 6:30 or so when I get home.
They're Dumb!Egg #2 might have just offed himself.
