➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

just went out to collect eggs and check on the “littles” about a dozen were huddled in the corner of the fence looking sooooo pitiful, so i scooped them up and put them with their smart friends in the hideaway box for the night. then i found a few stragglers and put them in as well. didn’t do a complete head count but hopefully they are all safe and warm inside.

Finally got some pics of the escapees! 6 months ago these two got out of their pen, (pair Reeves pheasants) along with some others that I managed to recover.
Predators haven't gotten them, yet nor have they moved on? Usually if they get out they are gone in quick chilly minute! :( they have completely reverted back to being "wild"! :love I can't even get close to them at night when they roost. :hmm too smart to be caught in a recall trap.
I apologize for the poor quality of the pics....dadgum phone camera.

so happy they are doing well in the wild! i have a bad feeling that my escapees were not so smart nor lucky! I haven’t seen any trace of them other than the 1 male that came home twice.......i think i’ve got my aviary almost to fort knox level so will have to try again in the spring and chock this up to a learning experience!!

:wootThat's awesome that they've stayed nearby, and have managed to survive! That's pretty cool, actually!:pop

:confused:They're not the brightest crayons in the box, huh?
Cute does not mean intelligent, unfortunately!:lau

I'm learning.

I still have three males caged together and they're doing great but I want that cage freed up.

I think I'm going to take the Tibetan male and put him in with the five girls and then eat the other two.
