Everyone's experince will be different, that's one thing that makes giving advice so hard, because you might or might not have the same experinces as I have had...you just have to use whatever ( sound) advice is out there, a part from here, another from someone else, until you find a procedure that works for you. I know you want absolute answers but that's not possible and if someone tells you you have to do it their way....run the other way!By 5 weeks, my cortunix boys were fighting all day & night (with or without girls). I separated the two Tibetans with a divider in their apartment, they both spent every minute of the day trying to get to each other.
Did my head in!!
I'll be culling my boys as soon as the mayhem starts again. Little buggers!
I don't know exactly when egg laying will decrease, but I'm in it for eggs and meat. The meat part means they get culled if my population gets too large.I figured because they are such fast growing, productive little things. 1year old is middle age -so you are going to be heading in the direction of mutton after 1 year?
If you dispatch & freeze to rest it -should be ok?

I think it does with Cots. My Bob's are productive for 3 to 4 years before I start seeing a decline, but one thing you have to remember is that Bob's are seasonal breeders, where as Cots can lay year round.Edit- would the egg laying frequency decrease after 1 year?
