➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Hi, need some help,

Can you put California quails with coturnix straight out of hatcher into brooder box, or is one breed to big for the other to be mixed.

Are they both just hatched? If so then I dont see why not!

Coturnix hatched this morning and California has just peep. So only about 4 hours apart at this time.

My 47 popcorns. It is night time so the only light is the red heat lamp. I don't like disturbing them unnecessarily. They have been on pine shavings for a few days and it's working out well. I added more shavings today - sorta DLM in the brooder. I'll continue to clean and start fresh once a week. They are getting big fast. They are 12 days old. The box is just a little hideout for them.

No leg bands. Separate by cages. One boy, buncha girls. It is all good.

I wanna watch someone paint toenails on a quail. For some reason, I find this immensely funny. Imagine a little bow on the quails neck. Kinda like they do with ducklings at Easter.

I just found a bag of bows that I impulse bought for a puppy.....Don’t tempt me

You can but it would be better to keep them seperated. Later on as they mature, they probably will harass/ peck at eachother.
I've run Bob's, Blues, Gambles, and Valleys together for a few weeks but seperated them after that time.
