What method did you use?Thank you.
It was one of the ones that I hatched too so it’s worse. But when I saw him suffering and then saw it going wrong, I just stepped in right away and didn’t even think about it!! It was over pretty fast.
I just hope my favorite boy doesn’t get it next.![]()
Thank you! And yeah it was easier than expected honestly. Though I’m still not sure if I could do a healthy bird or not. Red was suffering so I knew it had to be done and that made it easier. Not sure I could do a perfectly healthy bird.If you ended a chicken you can certainly end a quail. Congrats. I still hate doing the deed, but I'm glad I've learned how.

That’s true!! Was definitely a relief knowing I did it right and he was for sure dead. Although it was a bit shocking having the blood go everywhere and watching him flap all over the placeYeah, that happens a lot. At least that way you know you got it right!
No, no broomstick for quail. I usually just pull their heads off, or use pipe cutters. That’s true!! Was definitely a relief knowing I did it right. Although I don’t think the broomstick would work very well on a quail??? Since they’re so small???
That’s a good idea!! I think next time I’d just use a knife or shears and cut the head offNo, no broomstick for quail. I usually just pull their heads off, or use pipe cutters.
I feel as though a round of applause is in order! Good work! No, a chicken but still haha
I personally like a minimum of equipment—it keeps things simple; simple procedures have less room for error. That’s a good idea!! I think next time I’d just use a knife or shears and cut the head off
