If they are trying to hatch on day 24 the temp is too low.

Your current eggs...we shall see what happens come hatch time.

well i said they were in a cool spot! and the others started hatching 4 days earlier but know it's a forced air incubator which should get rid of that problem

Where did your eggs come from?
A major hatchery that specializes in quail or a backyard breeder person?
Do you have a link to the website page you ordered from?

A relatively large scale breeder in British Columbia that was highly recommended; he doesn’t have a webpage, just word of mouth as lots of his sales are commercial.

The eggs were packaged and labelled well, so I have no doubts there, it’s more just the oops timeframe. He filed a claim for the eggs coming late, I have doubts it will go through, but he wants me to let him know how things turn out with them so if the hatch ends up catastrophic he will work out something with me to rectify it.

Day 20 is still late for Coturnix quail. That definitely implies that your temperatures weren't high enough. Coturnix are supposed to hatch on day 17. If they hatch a day or two early, the temp was too high, if they hatch two or three days late, the temp was too low.

Day 20 is still late for Coturnix quail. That definitely implies that your temperatures weren't high enough. Coturnix are supposed to hatch on day 17. If they hatch a day or two early, the temp was too high, if they hatch two or three days late, the temp was too low.

did i forget to mention they were chickens?
