My turkey poults are really tame too. One just got out of the brooder and went into the woods (of course there's thorns everywhere) I had thorns go into my face and arm when I went to go get him 😂 He's back in the brooder though.
OMG!! I probably would have done the same thing though 😂🤣 glad he’s back and you’re okay!!

I’ve heard so many good things about turkeys. They’re like little dogs. One day I will have some haha but probably not for several years. It’ll be a while 😂🤣

I'm thinking about ordering some. The farm that usually sells them doesn't have them.

I'm almost thinking about doing an order through Tractor Supply.

There's a big difference in the behavior of my breeders vs. my "to be culled" group. I climb into my breeder pens every day to gather eggs. I give them treats. I talk to them. They come up to me and I can leave the pen open while I'm in there and they don't flush.

I don't spend nearly as much time with the other group, so they are much more afraid of me.

So your breeders are a lot more calm... That is nice for me to know because I plan on having a group of breeders and then the rest will be grow outs for culling.

Lavender quail cock is in trouble. He won't stop crowing in the middle of the night, which I can hear all the way upstairs from the garage.

So he's getting booted to the pigeon loft. Which actually as I think about it isn't really a punishment, lol. Lots of space to run around.

There is already one seller on this side of town. Wonder if I should put a feeler out...

Hmmm.

Kiki - what did your research show for egg sales? I'm strictly hobby.
I haven't researched.
Do you need eggs to sell?

@Kiki This is one of the chicks that we wanted to see what colour it turned out. It has a lump under its wing. The lump is hard, almost feels like bone and runs from under the wing almost all the way back to its tail. You can see how its right wing sticks out over the lump.
