I've had quite a few quail and pheasants hatch while still in the turner, both cabinet and styrofoam bators. The worse is buttons, they squeeze through the quail rails and get underneath the turner.all eggs finally transferred into the hatcher.....5 hatched so far today 2 were still in the turner at hatch.....will see what happens overnight!!
Yeah. I’ve been checking frequently. So far they seem happy at the warm end. I have a thermometer at the other end too so I can compare.I'd keep an eye on them...smaller space will heat up faster and not enough room to get to a cooler area.
yes it was so dangerous because quail.....the first one had fallen through to the bottom so I had to empty the incubator to get him out before he could find the fan......luckily we didn’t screw the plate down so it was relatively easy......just nerve-wracking.I've had quite a few quail and pheasants hatch while still in the turner, both cabinet and styrofoam bators. Also like to commit suicide by getting behind the the turner motor and cooking themselves to death.
But other than that, I've actually had better hatches letting them hatch while still in the turner trays...just turn it off.
It seems to be running about 97-99 on the warm side and 78-80 on the cool side. Does that seem about right?Yeah. I’ve been checking frequently. So far they seem happy at the warm end. I have a thermometer at the other end too so I can compare.
Can you lower it a tad?It seems to be running about 97-99 on the warm side and 78-80 on the cool side. Does that seem about right?
