current view of Thor! Looks like at least 1 more external pip in the egg behind him 👏
Hey muddy, 70% is too high in my opinion. Looking at these pics your %RH is higher than that....condensate on the sides means it's saturated!
I like to have the humidity around 50 to 60% when they pip and start zipping.

it has “settled” in and staying around 50.....hatcher is the j12.....it’s a bit** to hold stable humidity

DH “allowed” me to get 4 turkey poults at RK today as part of Mother’s Day gift!!! It ended up being an eye-opening experience as even the employee working the chick department really has no clue on the birds she is selling!! there were several ppl trying to buy the ring-neck chicks they had without any clue of permit requirements or even type of bird they were buying 😭😭😭 they were wanting the cute little chicks to lay them some eggs year round but i could tell that most had no idea about space requirements, coops, etc etc!! definitely no idea about netting or hw cloth!

How can they sell them if permits are required to have them?

Ow, I agree it makes no sense that the store would sell something that you need a permit for, especially since the employees even have no idea of anything to do with them. That is sad. Did anyone actually buy them? I have done a lot of research on pheasants as I wanted a reeves pheasant, and don’t most pheasants have a minimum requirement of 25 square feet per bird?

yes today was another lesson for me in how RK is significantly lacking in the area of education!!! even the sales employee said she had almost talked her mom into letting her get a white turkey as a pet and theni burst her bubble by telling her that rk turkeys are bb and “meatbirds” only.....she had no idea heritage breeds even existed!! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
when i complained last year about the permit issue, they assured me that every person was properly informed but yeah that’s a definite NO!!! they are only concerned with the sale.....not the aftermath!! 😭😭😭 the states and counties/cities are actively trying to prevent the irresponsible sales as are “concerned citizens” but as the Covid situation has taught us, you can’t stop the large corporations, you can only penalize and stop small business!
as far as pheasants....I would say 10+sq ft per bird would be sufficient but need to take extra care to prevent escape.....(and of course check your state permit requirements for gamebird) but as far as i know, reeves should pass in most states (except wyoming)...... i learned everything from @007Sean and the school of hard knocks!
