vote “build it” and get them!!! I initially wanted “ornamental” pheasants in addition to my quail, but of course ringneck are much less expensive and easier to procure........i love mine and it was probably a wise decision in hindsight with the “learning curve” involved......
I vote that too, but my current project is quail. Then maybe pheasants

Ornamental's, along the lines of Goldens and Amherst are actually easier to raise than most of the True pheasants. The ring necked species for the most part are aggressive and territorial. In general, they require more sq.ft. of enclosure to be properly maintained in a breeding program.
