There's currently inappropriate references tied to my posts in 3 different threads. I am lonely going to get a nasty message from an admin... It is not my fault that the world went down the gutter and pulled me with it.

Does anyone dry incubate their quail eggs?

That’s what I do. I add water the last few days. I had 44 out of 50 hatch.

We plan on having 2000 by end of summer/fall. So my incubators are going to be going non-stop. That’s our plans at least. You know what happens when you make plans....

I do not think they are fragile...small yes but tough little things.
They almost don't even need a brooder...they can go straight to their cages.

My quail are 1 week old. They are no longer cute and fluffy. They flush when I go to grab them creating huge plumes of quail dust. Having them in the house is so darn convenient. When should I cut the cord and let them outside?

PS - They are feathering, but not fully. Do they still need a heat source or will a huddle box be fine?

On a different note, we have a lot of cubicles at work. So they provided a couple closed door rooms for conferences. They called them huddle rooms. Doesn't that sound like you are afraid of something? I call them cuddle rooms. Much more warm sounding.

I do get weird looks when I invite coworkers to go to the cuddle room. It is better with a group. For some reason they want the door open...

Uncomfortable? Good, get over it.

I still haven't moved my babies outside. I swear I'm putting them out today.

We plan on selling them not keeping them past the beginning of winter. But yes it’s a new adventure!

I’ve read Tennessee Red Bobwhites are really aggressive. Anyone find that to be true?
