We started with 36 that had a very hard trip from Louisiana to California. Then a turner glitch followed by temperature fluctuations.

After all that we have 15 developing eggs. In 7 more days we’ll find out how badly inconsistent turning and saddled air cells being set in awkward positions will affect a hatch. (It was a
very rough first week.)
Pre-kid (around 15 years ago) I used to have a few pairs of buttons. Somehow my cat got the cages open — all of them — while I was at work one day. He was so thoughtful; he saved me the feet as a special gift.

The new cages will have squirtgun turrets with laser sights and a “barking dog” alarm .

But seriously, lesson learned there!
