I have my 4 week olds outside already. when temp dropped below freezing, I put the cozy coop heater inside upstairs. I turned it on low and have left it in as a few of them like to cuddle up to it in this rainy weather. they go out to shed with heat lamp asap. when my oldest were out there, I attached heat lamp to a stand at front of cage when it dropped really low. I haven’t noticed any of my boys fighting really and I kept them in the cage all together until 7 ish weeks. not absolutely sure but i think it’s 4 boys, 3 girls.Oh boy! I am finishing my cages in the shed, but the weather will not be consistently warm enough to put them out there yet. Currently I have 1 large 8'x3' cage in my sun room, which is heated. I really don't want to have a second cage in the sun room...
What is the lowest temp you would have coturnix quail in an unheated shed/building (there's protection from the wind)?
