I candled 24 tonight from KC farms and looks like all 24 tried, but 3 may have checked out already, I didn’t pull them - yet - but I prob will in a few days to be sure. They are all of the silver variety, the Schofield Silver. Looking forward to another hatch in 12 days or so!

Got 80% on a shipped mixed batch I did just for fun off eBay, just to get things started and see what would happen. Came out good I think. Loving all the colors!

I dunno.. seems pretty extreme on the curly toe scale . And if it is genetic, and I fix it, then I wont know who had dicky toes and I might breed from them?

I just did some Dr Google reading.. it looks as though is can be a vitB2 deficiency, and genetic. I think I will cull them.

If it's just the toes, try the shoes to fix, sometimes they get the toes from being stuck in the egg too long. If the ankles are curled too then it's probably better to cull.

Just a bit curly on the toes I think is a-ok. But when the whole foot is curled inwards and they are walking on ankles..

I culled them already. One of Dr google results said it was very painful for them. That was enough for me.

That leaves 24 healthy looking fluff balls making a mess!

Yeah mine have come out like that and fixed themselves up within a few days. Though I have one now walking on his joints/knees a bit not sure how to fix that and hoping it fixes itself I won’t cull him unless I have to if he can’t get around, so far he’s getting around as well as the rest it just looks a bit off

His toes are not curled though. Just walking a bit off and he’s so cute...

I'm still getting just 1 egg a day. I've found a local here I can buy hatching eggs from so I'm hopefully picking up 3 to 4 dozen from him March 1. All standard wild types. I'm no good at vent sexing.

day 16....looks like a few are close to pipping!! i’m seeing little cracks in the shell even though not raised and active beak action yet.

I know my babies will hatch soon. I’m guessing tomorrow evening, into Wednesday morning. It’s hard having someone else doing this for me, but at least I’m not hovering over the incubator. Or watching the video monitor.

Does the dealer have a camera set up for you to watch them hatch?

Lockdown!!
Candled all 27 & a couple have huge air cells. Draw down has begun on a couple. A couple others have tiny air cell by comparison. Did not see any internal pips. Expecting & hoping for 90%. 24.3 hatchlings are a few days away.

Incubator full of water & temp climbing back up.

LOL ME TOO!!! In fact I STILL sleep on my office floor on hatch nights LOL!! I had 9 in the brooder the other night and a few eggs still in the incubator and I slept on the floor on a pillow bed listening to peeps all night lol. I get up and check on them the first night to make sure they are ok and have water in their little bottle caps. At 6am I had 6 more going nuts in the incubator - I shined the light down and they all ran to the light and looked up at me yelling their little fuzzy heads off like GET US OUT NOW!

I went back to sleep for a bit and told them to dry off a bit more... lol by 9am there was 7 so I moved them, the last 4 were quitters.

On Sunday I took a quick nap and told my husband “I just had 16 babies I need a rest!!”

Lol! Hilarious.
