➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Buttons are going to be two weeks old tomorrow. They are afraid of new things I put in the cage, whether it is food or enrichment. But if I feed them bugs and stuff from my hand, they aren't afraid at all. I think this is a good sign that my chicks are trusting me. So thankful that all ten are thriving, even tough they now have to live in a maximum security prison because one escaped through the metal bars of the cage while I was gone and I found it in my bedroom crying for help.

My hatch is done. The last two stragglers hatched this morning.
55 set, 41 fertile, 34 hatched. The double yolker made it to about day 12 before the twins quit.
One of my falb fee chicks died yesterday, 3 or 4 days old. No idea why, it was thriving. I weighed all the chicks the day before so I could move the 20 biggest to a different brooder and it was one of the largest.

Sometimes internal issues aren’t apparent until they have been living on feed for a couple days and not the yolk. It’s sad but it happens sometimes.

Hey...ive currently got 10 coturnix quail in the incubator and theyre on day 18...no hatch yet :hmm and its my first ever time hatching...bfore lockdown, i did candle them and 1 was definitely alive but im not too sure now lol im trying to stay calm but im rlly nervous...wish me luck! :fl
Day 18? When will you call the hatch?

What is temp? Humidity? 18 is a long hatch and if you haven't seen a pip yet, it isn't looking good.

Er the temperature is at 37.3 and the humidity between 60 and 65....ill probably keep it in till day 21...i think the incubator readings are faulty but my thermometer and hygrometer are taking reallyy long to arrive

I was supposed to start locked down yesterday but guess who has not taken the turner out yet?

Since I forgot I'm turning it into an experiment.

I have taken the turner out a week in advance before with no issues.

This time I'm leaving the turner in until Hatch Day.
😜
