Rosetta is a cross between range pattern Tibetan and wild pattern pharaoh. Since range is incompletely dominant, it results in a variety of patterns, some favoring wild with more barring and pencilling, and some favoring range with more smooth tones. The one that’s reddish with wild pattern is probably egyptian or egyptian fee, the lighting makes it a bit difficult to tell. Your SSCs may have a bunch of other genes like roux and fee, and you can get quite a variety with them. Your scarlets work the same way as Rosetta. Some people differentiate between red range and scarlet, red range being more the Tibetan roux version and scarlet being the more Rosetta roux version. Male rosettas can carry roux, which will brighten their red tones, and if they favor wild pattern, you may notice a brighter red chest. The lines and barring have no link to the gender, just indicate how strong the wild pattern is under the range. Here are the ones I’m not sure about:View attachment 2864393
I love the colors on this one, but he looks like a Tuxedo/Pharaoh? I only got Rosetta Tux eggsView attachment 2864394
On the right is a Scarlet Fee, not sure if maybe the right is male and the left is a female? She’s covered in stripes while he’s solid brown.View attachment 2864395
A closer viewView attachment 2864396
This girl is patterned like a Pharaoh but is lighter colored with almost a gray tintView attachment 2864397
Here’s a regular Pharaoh from the same hatch to compare to the previous pic. Also, how did I get Pharaohs? I have 4 normal pharaoh colored hens, the eggs I bought were Rosetta Tux, SSC, Tibetan, Scarlet Fee, Italian, Pearl, and Panda.
I don’t know much about the genetics yet
Any help would be greatly appreciated!![]()
