➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I’m paranoid about bacteria contamination/jostling them...

That's what gloves and flashlight condoms made out of gloves are for! :lau

While handling a few quail this morning, I noticed one definite male. I was sad just because, but glad I could sex it already.

I had a hunch that the baby shriekers would all turn out to be boys, but that did not pan out.

Now my new theory is that most of the smaller ones at 2-4 weeks end up being male, larger = female. That does seem to be holding water with this batch so far, but we shall see.

You know what...I'm think I NG you are on to something here.
I need to look back at my photos but my females seen to get bigger before the males too.

Why oh why does my phone autocorrect thinking like that?

It might be wishful thinking  But I feel like it has been the case in.....like every hatch of mine actually. Certainly with a few exceptions.

I know i'm late to the party but dang Kiki, pull up your big girl britches, hold em in one hand and pull the heads off with the other. You can drop them in the sink after that if you want, they don't make a mess. It is fast.
of course me liking your post is kinda hypocritical lmao....i haven’t found my big girl britches yet either!
