Thanks for posting this @Texas Kiki , I have warned peeps who raise quail of this happening for years. It is not only confined to Bobwhites, all quail can contract UE. It seems to be worse in quail than in other birds. I attribute this to overcrowded conditions and a lack of maintenance of the enclosures associated with first time quail raisers.

Tonight is day 6 and I just candled my eggs and most of the chicken ones have happy little spiders swimming away. I couldn't tell for the quail, I think they need more time. But all 7 of 7 turkey eggs show development!!!! I'm so excited!!!

Tomorrow is lockdown for my 10 (day 14)! I’m assuming I should start lockdown around the same time I set the eggs (for instance, since I set around 6pm, I should remove turner and increase humidity around the same time) or does it matter?

It does not matter. Remove the turner and increase the humidity at your convenience.

Have you guys seen your girls laying their eggs?
Oh my goodness, so cute. They grab little bits of sawdust or whatever they're nesting in, and throw it behind them. It's adorable

Edit - I just realised I have only ever seen the white girls do this..

I don't see it very often, but oohhh it's soo sweet!!
Chickens take 4 hours to get the nest all perfect and lay their egg. Quails, 10 minutes -1 min for laying the egg, 9 mins for relaxing In a fabulous nest

They are probably resting their bums! Giving birth every day sucks I bet!

Duckling is forbidding me from eating the quail. She was so excited to eat duck, and doesn’t care if I kill chickens.
I’m guessing it’s because they are so small.

The first pic looks about normal to me, day 14 isn't too early, 16 to 17 days to hatch with Buttons. The second pic? Don't think it will hatch!
