➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

:oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops:

thanks for the correction!! i know better

You're fine, there are a LOT of colors :lau

I think there are two different genes people claim are roux dilute. One is like an orange but sex-linked. One is just a slightly paler pharoah. I have both now:idunno So that makes it extra confusing.

I think the pale pharoah types are actually a light down dilute or something and get mislabeled.

Sitting on the floor in my office (where my incubator is) after setting up the brooder, mindlessly perusing social media, when I HEARD THE CHICKS CHEEPING THROUGH THEIR SHELLS! We’re coming to the end of day 16 and I haven’t candled since day 10 so I’m glad at least one is still going strong! Such a sweet sound; I’m hoping it won’t be too much longer now...I’m like an anxious expectant mother!

I wish I would have watched this video before my quail hatched. I’ve had quail die from all of these reasons.:th The only one I haven’t figured out was the cold water no no. I thought they were splashing and getting each other wet, getting cold, then piling up and smothering each other. It didn’t don on me that the water itself was too cold.

And the first pip (that I can see) JUST happened! Guess I won’t be sleeping tonight...hopefully my face pressed up against the plastic incubator window doesn’t traumatize the hatchlings. ;)
