➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Hahahahaha

Just spotted one of those quail eggs rocking :fl not that I was staring at the incubator with a torch or anything
i admire your patience! my thanksgiving quail hatch was slow like that with lots of time between hatches and I think me messing with it shrink wrapped some of the later bloomers and I’m pretty sure that’s what caused the loss of the 2. the 1 that drown was not strong enough and the one that died had a crooked neck. some of the others that should have hatched just didn’t.
your turkey poult is absolutely adorable!!! what breed?

I hear ya Muddy! I need to sit on my hands to stop me messing with them in the incubator. Justcanthelpmyself

Re the Turkey. We have 3 x 4 month old turkeys, then we hatched 2x others 4 weeks ago. The owner of the parent turkeys whose eggs we hatched, found her hen dead and still had 6 eggs left. So she put them under a broody hen.. only 1 hatched. So we got him, he's a week old now! (I think it's a tom)
He's a lot of work because he is just one tiny Turkey and no siblings, and because of the age difference with his siblings, he can only be with them (roaming around my house!) Under close supervision.
I have no idea what breed they are, Turkeys aren't really popular as pets here in Australia, so I'm just happy to have a Turkey! Any color!

The first guy who got eggs off me. Had strangely 7 hatch on Day 15, and now has had a total of 16 hatch on day 16. with 8 more eggs rocking. he was running his incubator at 37.8 and high humidity. He sent me this photo of his birds they are a variety of colors. Good to see all my birds are doing their jobs.

So yesterday, after our daily play in the outside grass pen, I moved my now 3week old quailies into their new house, in the garage (rather than inside my house). Oh man, they are so cute in there. I think they are happy because the cage thingy has a side door, rather than a roof door. So they run to my hand everytime I open the side door :gig
