Ok here's some pics of day old, week old, 12 to 24 week olds, and fully grown melanistic pheasants. This way of sexing will only work on melanistic. Will not work on any of the other True pheasants.WHAT U SAY!??? mOre info please pretty pretty please!!!

Female melanistics will have only a crescent shaped white patch under the neck. It will also have white primaries.
12 to 14 week old male and female melanistics

Males are starting to get adult plumage. Still have white feathers around the neck and white primaries.
Females nearly have adult plumage. Still some white under neck. The white primaries have been replaced with brown barred primaries (adult).

Females will have dark chocolate brown feathering, darker almost black tips on feathers. The neck feathers will have an iridescent pink, green or purple glow, especially on the nape.
