I was just wondering if you had gotten fertile eggs yet! I'm glad Mr. Quailie came through.

When is the hatch date?

6 of the 8 eggs I thought were developing are still good.
This one looks like a quitter.

And the other one looks like it fooled me.

The last 6 are ok, I think.

I don't know when hatch day is.
I think they are due on Dec. 30th.

I peeked at the 6 real quick. I think I saw movement in most of them.

You set them on the 12th, so day 18 would be the 30th.

How is that second cage coming along? My cage build time got preempted. For the greater good, you understand.

6 quail should fit in one of your existing rabbit cages with a better floor, box of dirt and some water for 8 weeks. Then segregate, integrate & BBQ. Good test run.

Ordered 2 hygrometers. Same brand and model. 12 hours in the salt test bag and reading 65% & 62% versus the 75% target. Both surprisingly close in readings. The walmart one at 57%. Accuracy is +/- 5%. Temperature is 70°F. Later today I will put the bag on top of the running incubator and test at a higher temperature.

Thanks for the input. It is starting to soak in, but I don't grok. Close enough works.

My salt test was off using the bag. Was dead on 75% in a sealed jar. Some bags are not air tight. Try the jar and see if it helps.
