What is the color of the bird in your avatar? Charcoal rosetta?

I would call my avatar a plain charcoal, whereas both the bird above and this gal definitely exhibit rosetta lacing, but that's the only real thing I am sure of about their color. This lighting also makes them look a lot more identical than they do in real life, his pattern is much more mottled/asymmetrical than hers. It's also obviously modified the shade of the base charcoal as it does in tibetans, or there are other genetic factors at work in both of them.

@RUNuts. This isn't the drawn down but look towards the bottom of these two eggs...see the tiny bit of shadow at the bottom of the air cell?

They are getting ready to make and internal pip.
The pictures suck but it's hard to get photos with one hand.

It depends on the type of quail. Some are all dark meat and some have both white and dark meat.
