I think the chick(s) made it to day 12 of development (feathers had developed) before severe conjoinment became fatal. At first glance it looked like a single chick with just an extra set of legs, but I found evidence of other melded parts.

Hatching is so exciting! However, we only control the incubator. The rest is beyond us. This is how we learn patience.

Not that I'd consider the view particularly gory, but it is a dead critter.
