I want to add a new poll but it won't really be a poll.
I want to keep track (don't ask) of how many quail we each hatch this year.
Can you please tell me a hatch date and number only.

Are you concerned with survival rates? Not all 58 made it past the first week. We are down to I believe 45 strong and healthy birds.

They have done nothing since this morning. No rocking or shaking, no more cracking, no noise, nothing I have never had so many pipped doing nothing for so long before. I keep checking every five minutes because I think they'll all pop out at once and I wont be able to tell who is who.

switched the heat bulb to regular light bulb to start bringing brooder temp down to high 80’s low 90’s but they act like they are about to freeze to death! lost 2 more runts....one overnight (he actually had an eye glued shut from hatch and we just got it opened last night) the other sometime today. still have a couple more I’m concerned about. only 1 with curled toes on one leg is the day 21 hatch. will consider hobbles tomorrow or day after if otherwise ok.

I think I am averaging 24 hours after I notice the first pip to get the first baby.

O gosh..how hot to real heat bulbs get?
I am so worried they get too hot.

Yes but I feel like every previous time I have noticed one pip another has already been that way for a day and is due to come out. Eight! Eight pips now!

Maybe remembering to turn all the eggs the right way for me to see them this time was a mistake....for my sanity....
