Some pics of our outside digs..I just put some fresh piles of sand in. (They spend the daytime out here, and then come into their inside pens at night)

The pen in the middle is because I have 2 quail families, and the girls in the little pen are too cool to be friends with anyone else.

Here are most of my Bobwhites. I’m thinking I will end up with 150 out of 225. We had 25 early quitters, 30-40 mid to late quitters, and around 10 die around hatch time. They are hilarious looking zooming around the brooder.

@007Sean how old do you think bobwhites need to be before they go in an outdoor flight pen? Temperatures are 30-40s here most of the time. But there is always a chance of snow here until end of March.

At least 6 weeks old, temps in the 30-40's is too cold until they are fully feathered.

We had quail last batch get separated from the heat lamp at around 2-3 weeks old in their brooder and several died. And it’s around 60F in our basement I would say.
