them!!! we have had a couple birds get tangled in plastic mesh holding them together due to āre-usingā the ones from ādog countryā in the aviary but no major harm done. they last up to a month, give grass a chance to start, and give birds a place out of mud etc to sun and enjoy. can easily remove (poop and all) as necessary and even considering adding sprinkling of PDZ to fresh mats for deodorizing!! Have only tried in portion of aviary so far, but going to put it in half to 3/4 of chicken area next and video/photograph progress for possible article! Itās a little more costly than traditional materials (estimation) but if it helps build grass/clover base and easier clean-up than shoveling straw/shavings/poo etc, may in fact be more cost-efficient in the long run......for urban/suburban homesteads???
