➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I can really only recommend the traditional style wire cages for rabbits you almost never plan on removing. They hate it. I hate it. Everyone hates it. It's easier with small rabbits.
I'm confused.
Never plan on removing what?

Will my rabbit cages work for rabbits?

*Removing rabbits from the cage.

They'll totally work! Very functional. The only issue is that the removal of huge rabbits through tiny sharp wire doors usually results in one of us getting scratched and both of us hating the process. It is totally doable with leather gloves I just wish my rabbits could like the process of getting taken out more. It is a lot easier with my 5-7 lb babies than my 10 and 12 lb does.

Be sure and check all the fine print. Here I can get a free permit to have quail but if I want to even give away eggs or meat let alone sell any it becomes a $50 bird farm license.
There are actually 2 permits I'm filling out. They cover sales too. No fees.

i thought quail didn’t eat as much as chickens!!:gig seems I’m going through about 6+ lbs of food and treats per day in the aviary and everyone still acts like they are “starving”!!! where are the quail that supposedly only cost $1 in feed conversion from 0-butcher!!! i’ve got “low-waste” feeders etc. :lau (and evidently the fattest and most spoiled quail flock on the planet):gig

Maybe you are feeding the rodents.

Quail are notoriously wasteful. I don't think there is such a thing as 'low waste' or 'waste proof' feeders for quail.

i started with the big “chicken” feeders and there was constantly feed scratched out on the ground (quail and chickens etc) i replaced the aviary with long narrow feeders and very little is on ground now. I feed 2-3x per day approximately 3lbs feed. we give about 1c premium scratch per feeding time to distract from the gate. The auto feeder is programmed to throw scratch 3-4x per day and 90+% is cleaned up!! then i also try to give some kind of “greens” as treats 1-2x per week + the occasional bird that finds its way into hubby’s garden. i add grit and oyster shell to feed 1-2x weekly.

if the “rodents” have wings!! last feeding was approximately 6:30 ish. i just went out again 9:30 and both feeders were empty! approximately 16 holes per feeder??? put 1 lb per feeder and again they were fighting for a space!!! these guys are “bottomless pits”:gig
