Interesting. This one still can't hold its head up. Maybe because it's a quail, and very tiny?I had a turkey poult that had pop eyes. They were much more extended from the skull than those. It was doing fine for a week until it committed turkeycide. Sorry I never took any pics of it.
Myshire Jumbos after removing the broken ones, 40 ordered and 41 started. 11 pulled for no development in first week and I think I had another 3 dark eggs I was hoping for. So 14 infertile. Are the myshires jumbos or colors? That’s 70% fertility.....extremely low for myshire!!! I’m overdue for candling the 90 (60 jumbo 30 FF) will hopefully get round to it tonight and update my fertility rate for comparison
I had 42 right?Myshire Jumbos after removing the broken ones, 40 ordered and 41 started. 11 pulled for no development in first week and I think I had another 3 dark eggs I was hoping for. So 14 infertile.
14/41 = 34% infertile or 66% fertile
25/41 = 60% hatched
Thank you for your notes on fertility. I was happy to get over 50% hatched from other's comments on shipped eggs.
25/83 = 30% infertile or 70% fertile. Where Muddy is saying low. Ours were shipped farther also. Tuesday to Thursday from Ohio to Texas.I had 42 right?
Pulled 11 clears.
What's the combined math for us?
Yes you guys hit combined total of 70% fertile.....that is minimum guaranteed from hatchery....I believe it to be low from myshire as I still hold them to higher standard than hatchery. But 60% hatch rate on eggs shipped from Ohio to Texas to me is amazing!! Probably lower fertility rate on jumbos because in highest demand overall25/83 = 30% infertile or 70% fertile. Where Muddy is saying low. Ours were shipped farther also. Tuesday to Thursday from Ohio to Texas.
80 ordered. 90 received. 83 arrived in good condition.
As you saw in the above picture, I hadn’t put a roof on this morning. I went out to put a cover on, and a chocolate flew out. It was momentarily caught, but I didn’t have it in my hands, and now I don’t know where it is.
I added the babies (didn't have a camera), and a gallon waterer. That is nice in itself. The babies out of the house, but I mean the big waterer. I can chill about them running out now.
The baby whitish flew out as I was putting the roof on, but I got it right away. The extension is more secure, and it might be fine until I can get the new pen built.![]()
