➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Quail getting into position to break out of the egg
I have 10 quail in one breeding cage; only getting 8 (sometimes 9) eggs daily. Haven't heard ANY crowing all week and hoping that I didn't eat the last roo of the batch. **rolls eyes** I'll know for sure when I set these eggs next week.

I should have new roos in 2-4 weeks depending on how they mature, currently this juvenile batch is about 4 weeks old. They're a mix of italians, ranger & pharoahs. I'm looking to get my mixed colored flock into all pharoahs so that I can more easily differentiate between the sexes. Still having difficulty vent sexing... I'll learn with time.

So cool, Kiki! I love seeing the little live thing moving inside the egg! It’s awe-inspiring to me.
I like the little aliens too.

I'm already planning my next experiment.
As soon as this hatch is done I am maxing out my bator with only fridge eggs that have been sitting in there for weeks.
Maybe even a month plus by the time this hatch is done.

I'll put tomorrow's eggs in a box. Thanks for reminding me.

I think it's plenty hot enough now.

Yay! No problem

Whats the plan in the shade or sun? Just an average shoebox or an amazon box or??
Whatll be in the bottom? Any added insulation for stabilizing temp?
