➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

as always on hatch day, I start second guessing and worrying so I’ve spent the last hour+ double checking my set date and time. It looks like I set these late on 21st. I finally did a last minute candling since I didn’t see any pips yet!! so here’s the pre-game stats....
33 eggs total celadon, sparkly, and jumbo
14 have draw down with discernible movement and possible to pending internal pips (8C and 6 J or S)
11 look possible hatchers (did not see obvious movement or as much draw-down.) 1 C, 10 J or S
8 look to be early to late quitters but I left them in for now
2 C 6 J or S

Lockdown has begun!

My Falb Fee eggs arrived today instead of tomorrow. One less day of bumping around a warehouse/shipping facility.
let me know what day you are setting falb fee and I’ll try to coordinate the remainder of my “mystery” eggs!!

I'll definitely post when I set those. I plan to set them the day after I think my last jumbo has hatched. That gives me time to make sure the incubator is clean and dry for the new eggs.

@Texas Kiki *watch the auction tomorrow* :caf

There was only one today (240 all-inclusive box that went for $115) :eek:but Zack promises a “surprise” tomorrow!!!
*before anyone asks I did not bid!!!*:lau
I'll try to remember to tell my friend to pay attention to that page for me.

For those who have hatched jumbos, do you see a large difference in growth rate or sizes? I'm guessing the slow growers will eventually catch up to their twice bigger hatch mates? Or is the size gene variable in the jumbo lines? Meaning, keep the big ones and keep breeding?
I usually just compare them when they reach 8 weeks or so and only keep the biggest for breeding. It's possible that a few were runts that caught up, but usually if they start big that gives them a leg up on the weight gain. I also only try to set eggs that are larger, over 13 grams.
