Yes, worry about the knives! The urchins are replaceable!Nah. They'd mess it up. I get a bit obsessive about the order I do stuff in, so it's easier to not have to worry about ordering a squad of urchins around in said correct order. Plus, they'd ruin my knives!
If, however, I decided to do a large batch of meaties, I would absolutely draft them into service, and risk the damage to said knives. They'd complain, but tough luck.

I’ve tried, I really have. I’m an active home cook (more so before the kids) and tried filets, chili, meat pie. All sorts of things. I honestly kind of wonder if it is whatever kind of food they’re eating in that part of the country. I don’t remember it being so pungent when I ate South Dakota deer growing up.
Great post. I’ll have to be more consistent with my grit offering then. Is chick size grit okay for adult quail then?
