➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Nah. They'd mess it up. I get a bit obsessive about the order I do stuff in, so it's easier to not have to worry about ordering a squad of urchins around in said correct order. Plus, they'd ruin my knives!

If, however, I decided to do a large batch of meaties, I would absolutely draft them into service, and risk the damage to said knives. They'd complain, but tough luck. :old
Yes, worry about the knives! The urchins are replaceable! :lau

I'd set them all to plucking. The knife work is the easy part.

I don’t see why not.
Sweet! Natural pest control! I get fewer ants, they get high protein added to their feed.

I'm still having a hard time believing how much these little guys eat. I was feeding them by the teaspoon, but I was having to refill their dish every hour. I'm going to have to break out the feeder I was planning on using for the adult birds.

I have a weird question. It is ant season in my area, and I was wondering if I get an invasion, can I let my chicks loose on it? Will too many ants be bad for them to eat?

My chickens won’t touch ants, but my quail have eaten tons of them. We don’t feed them ants on purpose, but when the ants come into the quail cages for water, they’re fair game.

Take him "grocery shopping". Everyone likes a trip to the zoo. Our zoo has free range chickens. We were beyond tickled. Tiny dinosaurs prowling the park paths.

"don't like the taste of deer" - I would suggest different way of preparation & cooking. But food handling starts at the dispatch. Lots of variables at play. Keep in mind, I don't make sausage with any of my precious venison, but know several people who grind everything including the backstrap. Best wishes!

Tell your husband to enjoy and cherish the family time. We hunt together for the same reason.
I’ve tried, I really have. I’m an active home cook (more so before the kids) and tried filets, chili, meat pie. All sorts of things. I honestly kind of wonder if it is whatever kind of food they’re eating in that part of the country. I don’t remember it being so pungent when I ate South Dakota deer growing up.
