➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I keep meaning to ask you genetic geeks...
What colors can I expect from my Pansy eggs?

Am I going to get a real yellow one?

It does not look like a slipped tendon but could be the beginning of perosis. Perosis can be caused by a thiamine and niacin deficiency. Make up a vitamin B complex solution at the rate of 1/2 capsule or tablet of vitamin B complex in one gallon of water. make it the only source of water. Do not add anything else to the solution. It should be made fresh daily. Give it to all of them as it will not hurt them but may help them.

Have the Rooster Booster Poultry Cell vitamin solution. I will put it in the water for all of them again. Been 2 weeks since last dosed. Feeding Purina Game Bird & turkey starter chow.

One of the medium males is now one eye. I give these guys the once over daily and just now noticing these issues? Not liking the quail issues.

Some of the jumbos are twice as big as the batch #3 hatchlings. Jumbos are 4 weeks and look ready to eat. 21 birds in 16 sq feet and most bigger than I thought. Time to shuffle. Is now the time to select breeders and put them in the townhouses? Or take the males to grow out cage?

Townhouses are 3 sq feet, so was thinking 4 birds, now that I see the size of these, I'm thinking need more room. That means butcher all but the jumbos? Spread them out?

Batch #1&2 are 7 months old.
Batch #3 at 8 weeks.
Jumbo batch #4 at 4 weeks and they are Jumbo.
Batch #5 due for lockdown on Monday.

Jumbo roosters are larger than the hens. Is this normal? Or are the hens slower growing? Liking the size of the Jumbos. Need more room.
