Very cool! Nice-looking, too.New dollar store hay racks! Tis a dish rack bent in half, attached to the swinging door for easy filling, and a chickenwire bottom with all the sharp ends carefully tucked away. @Sara L I think they turned out nice!

The old saying, "don't count your chicks before they hatch", is having new meaning for me.So I put 18 good looking eggs in to lockdown on Wednesday. The plan was for a friend to take around half but life got in the way and now she can’t take any. Going to be another big group for the freezer I guess.
Shouldn’t get too far ahead of myself either I suppose. Nothing has hatched yet.![]()
After dispatching we considered processing for freezer but he was a scrawny little trash panda so i didn’t even bother pulling the knives out. DH just buried whole thing as i didn’t need another carcass stinking up my cans this week! probable reasoning that attacks were typically Friday morning is that our garbage pickup is on Thursday!Nice! Could you maybe post a more comprehensive picture? I can imagine what it must look like in toto, but still it’d be nice to see the whole thing... also, doesn’t the hay fall through on the outside?
It does a little bit for sure - I am thinking of just sliding a thin piece of plastic or wood into the back where they shouldn't be able to get to it to chew it. It already wastes a lot less than my former "lean a piece of flake up against a corner" strategy xD And keeps bored buns occupied longer!

Love it! Simple, attractive and elegant. I’m wondering whether a left-over scrap of half-inch hardware cloth might not work too, and be unchewable (hopefully!). I really want to get some bunnies.
