Posting here because somebody locked the balut thread and I can't stand leaving drafts open.

Hire a neighbor to remove it.

I like that idea. Teenage boys are the perfect candidates for moving nests full of stinging things.

well we got a visit from our local police officer this morning! one of our “neighbors” made a complaint about DH carrying his sidearm and shooting “critters” with a rifle in city limits! The officer was basically embarrassed to even come to the house, but he had to verify that it was in fact an “air” rifle and the circumstances.....kinda expecting a follow-up visit from humane society when said “neighbor” learns that all was perfectly legal!!

OK, as of this morning my "hatched with assistance 6.80grams" is doing well and moving around, praise God! It is still mainly sleeping, but looks more lively than before, I think it is eating.. I keep it with the rest.
Meanwhile I have 19 new that hatched this morning (3 hours earlier than expected so woke me up). I took them out in the brooder. 62 eggs still to hatch today.

BTW, someone told me they should hatch in dark, so I am covering the incubator.

@el dorado quail did you say you had one with hernia? How many did you end up with eventually?

Hernia dude died. I've got to count them all and break open the rest of the eggs in a bit. But. It's way too hot to do anything until I get the house cooled off.
