SSC is just a catch-all term meaning the birds came from that collection of colors (that's sold as a branded mixed bag), not an actual specific color. It contains silver, blue, charcoal, lavender, etc.

I was just Googling and found this:

What this person calls pewter and blue are two of the type that I have.

I'm still not understanding how my other real pale ones are roux dilute because every time I Google the roux dilutes are coming up like this:

Well, I was all ready to correct muddy when she said it was a roux, but then I went digging. I found at least one other person who shares the opinion:

And then I got to thinking about my past hatches. These silver pharaoh things have always confused me because they've seemed to pop up from parent birds that don't share their color. In particular, my normal silver male threw quite a few normal silver/blues and then also a few tan-toned feather-sexable ones like these, seemingly out of the blue.

I have since *confirmed* that the male from that pairing carries one copy of roux, so it could be the same gene.

I'm not saying they ARE the same gene, but I also can't say they're not. So I need your help figuring it out!

Maybe it's silver + roux ? Someone needs to test it out.

That definitely a silver variety (SSC) if I accidentally called it a roux.....must’ve been the “drugs” but hey if it stimulated genetics research and findings must’ve been “good drugs”

I think there's a ~40% chance you had an unintentional stroke of genius.

Either my silvers or my roux were producing those types for some reason.
