➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I think a lot of people buy rubber shelf liner and that seems to work well. And it’s cheap.
yes!! $1 per roll at dollar store.....i have even been known to wash and re-use once cut to size......can sometimes be helpful in brooder as well. i keep mine on puppy pad covered with paper towels (easier to change more often) for about 1-2 weeks. then they graduate to bedding (pellets or shavings).....i also keep waterer on piece of wood if using shavings so water doesn’t “wick” out when they kick bedding and food into it. (most common causes of brooder death are drowning, wetness, and pile-ups)

Is bedding not good for them?

Good idea

I thought so too!! I plan to use it if/when I ever hatch.

Excellent idea!! Thanks!!

With the chickens I hatched I would get very low hatch rates on shipped eggs I was beginning to think there was something wrong with my process but this hatch proves to me at least that my process is just fine only thing I did different was a dry hatch and left the turner out and turned by hand

Are you sure your turner is working properly? If you turned by hand this time, maybe it is something with the turner? Or the humidity since you had different humidity levels this time? You could experiment and try hand turning and dry hatch with chicken eggs and see if you get better results.
