➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

You have to listen to the skit I posted for @KDOGG331

"Are all of your pets named Eric?"
"There's nothing so odd about that!"
I just listened.
I had to rewind a few times to understand.

Those loons sound like us!

Oh wow that’s a lot of water! Ha

Thanks, yeah I would love to be able to get them a bigger tank, but this was as big as I could get. I didn’t want to get in trouble or anything and do the stock idea regardless so I compromised. I still think they’re way better off than most goldfish.

And yeah, exactly. I’m going by the happy and healthy thing. That’s the other reason I don’t think the rule is so black and white because some fish are perfectly happy in smaller areas or with poor quality food and some get sick even in a bigger one or with good food, just like birds, kids, dogs, etc. lol

Not saying I would do it permanently or anything but this is as big as I could get and it was half off so I took advantage of the sale.

I get that everyone just cares about the fishes well being and I do too and appreciate it but it’s just everyone said I needed a bigger tank and needed it yesterday so I went out and bought one instead of keeping them in the 20 an extra few months and saving hundreds of dollars, thinking I was doing a good thing for them, only to be told it’s still not big enough, not good enough, won’t work. It’s just a little bit discouraging and honestly frustrating.

I also really don’t think they will double in size in a couple months or die or anything anytime soon.

They were in the other tank for 3 years. This is a major upgrade for them.

Of course I would love to be able to buy them a bigger tank or keep them in a pond year round but I can’t right now so I did the best I could for the time being only to be told it’s not good enough.

Sorry, I’ll stop now haha

Your new tank is fine for now.
Don't not worry about them outgrowing it yet.
We will deal with that next year.

Go set the damn thing up.
Don't wait a week.

Hey y'all.
When I went to check on my 4 week olds one of them had it's top beak stuck in the wire and it was doubled over on it's back, I thought it was dead. I managed to get it loose without breaking its freaking neck, but that top beak had been bent up, it was split and bleeding. It can't fully close its mouth right this second but I thought it might just be in shock & exhausted. Do y'all think it'll be okay? It was bleeding a little bit after I freed it, but it was trying to not draw attention to itself. It was breathing through its mouth.

Not sure it'll be able to eat, but it's worth giving it a day or so. I had one with a similar bent split—only more severe—and I had to cull it.

Ouch.
I'd off it.
