I don't know why but I want colored layers and the only way I will get those are if my olive eggers bred with any of his hens.

Neither one of us knows which rooster has made it with his hens. It's just a waiting game. I guess I shouldn't really care and just take the colored eggs that I get.

Nah, I totally understand wanting colored layers. Maybe you could compromise and just add like a few Easter Eggers or colored layers since Meyers minimum is only 3 but not $120 worth of chicks?

Although it’s a bit harder with cash and cards. I guess cash can be deposited though but cards don’t seem real

Yeah, that’s true. I do dog walk and pet sit so I actually have a lot of money saved from that and some from holidays/birthdays but I haven’t had as many jobs lately (barely working actually) and it’s not very reliable so I do need to find a real one.

Ideally I’d like to do it full time/start my own business and/or get certified as a trainer and do more that side of things, but I don’t think that’s realistic and even if it was, in the meantime I do still need a real one. So I do need to get serious about finding one.

But that said, I do want to stay here a little while longer at least because I want to save a ton more before I move out, but at the same time, I don’t want to stay so it’s tough.

I know that if I do move though, I won’t be able to take my chickens with me or have a garden because I will likely be moving into an apartment and that’s tough.

I could move to one near here and still drive to my parent’s to care for/visit the animals though but I don’t think I want to stay here.

Ideally, I’d love to just buy a piece of land somewhere and not waste money on an apartment but I know that’s not feasible either and if I wait for all these “ideals”, I’ll never get anything done.

You keep saying "I should", "I need to", etc. I think part of why I'm reacting strongly to your posts is that I can see myself just a few years back acting that same way. Only you can make yourself act. All we can do is advise and be a cheering squad. Please realize you need to make good habits and stick to them. You need to control your impulsiveness. You need a job.

I currently commute to my parents house (over 5 miles one way) each day morning and night to take care of my animals. It can be done.

If you want property, please realize you will probably need 20% down payment. There are loan options out there that could be less, but it's better to have 20% saved and available, because any place you move to is probably going to need some work anyway. If you want bare land, usually that's harder to loan on and they want 30%+ down payment.

x2 TA right? DS has a 25th anniversary camero (gen 3) with V8 conversion that he and DH built over last 10 years and the other “project” is an 86 fiero gt with V8 conversion that’s still hanging from the rafters waiting for a rebuild! DH took it back apart and I haven’t found the $$ for the rebuild yet
