I evicted the pansy fee chicks to the shed brooder tonight and cleaned up the little brooder for the buttons......following my brooder screw-up, I have 8 pansy fee and 2 buttons remaining from this hatch.

Nope, I didn't post yet. I set 30 eggs, had 10 hatch successfully on Sat-Sun. Jumbo pen: 0/6 fertile. Red pen: 6/11 fertile 2/6 hatched. Silver pen: 11/13 fertile 8/11 hatched. Any other stats you need?

I spend all day at my husband's grandpa funeral yesterday, and today I spent all day baking an decorating a carrot cake. My hands are shaking from icing bag stress, lol. So many colors... Final count was was 35 out of 38 eggs!

3 were dead in shell, never even pipped.

The other 35 are all happy and healthy!

Oh yeah. It hurt my hands too, back when I used to do those. Then I went to pottery and quit cakes. On to chickens!

I am ready to begin my vent sexing experiment. I bought a 3pack of 50 gallon tubs so I have two large brooders now. I'm going to put what I believe are girls in one and boys in the other.

This is the new brooder. It's even bigger than the old one.
