Ive been checking my quail aviary for eggs. Nothing yet.

The hatchet made it nice and quick. I will cremate him in the bonfire tonight.

I usually have my husband do mercy kills but he’s not here so I had to put on my big girl pants.

I’ve never done a chick until today. I’ll have a nice little bonfire for it so it’s little soul can rest. Plus I have quitter eggs that are being cremated too. From the earth they grow and to the earth they shall return... that’s how I treat the lives of ones that have passed.

I don't like it either, but also it has to be done in cases of medical cull or harvest.

Yeah I wanted to cry but told myself if I kept it living, it wouldn’t be right.

We have had to cull a few roosters due to aggressiveness and it’s hard no matter how nasty they are.

My dogs just ate one of them and loved every minute of it.

I don’t love the killing, but I love putting food on the table.

I was finally able to candle my buttons and I'm a little disappointed. 4 were cracked, and of the remaining 14, only 7 show development.
