yes they have scared me many times because they like to do the “dead quail pose” sleeping in the feed bowl

4 hatched so far. I'm seeing how "Grandma" does with them. She did very nicely with my last batch of chicks. She may become my brooder in her retirement.

I love when they talk to the chicks and tuck them into a corner, it’s like they’re having a bedtime story.

My juveniles scared the crap out of me today. I walked out to see them and all I saw was a ton of quail crammed into the feeder. I make feeders by cutting milk jugs, keeps the waste down.

Anyway they tipped it over and all decided for some reason to clown car themselves into it. Every single one of them was jammed in there. Afterwards they couldn't get back out.

I tipped it over expecting to find a bunch of dead quail but after I poured them all out they popped up and shook themselves out and were like "Oh hey food lady. Can we get some mealworms?" like they hadn't all just shoved themselves into a feeder for no reason.
