Snapped a pic of Wrong End for posterity.
I don't know if it's standard practice but, I do leave a light on for the first few days. Just to be sure they can find everything, especially to get back to the heat source if they wander off. A soft, non white light is ideal. But, just a light in the room is fine as long as it's not long term. White light can cause aggressive behavior in some quail.Dummy question, do I leave a nightlight on for these guys? Iām guessing no?
I have a small desk lamp Iāll sometimes use for them. They do sometimes wander off in the dark. I had one once cross to the cold side, and started to call, instead of calling back for it, the others all crossed to the cold side and piled up in the corner. I have a ceramic bulb, white bulb, and red bulb, if I use the ceramic or my heat plate, I put the desk lamp on outside the brooder next to the warm side.Dummy question, do I leave a nightlight on for these guys? Iām guessing no?
I normally have everyone on it for 24 hours, then I switch. When can I go from the shelf liner to the regular bedding? They poop so much. Theyāre putting my parrots to shame.
He is malpositioned.....pipped at pointy end. I would help it out but high probability it will be wry neck. Depending on severity you may have to cull.View attachment 2653117
