If the eggs are stored for the normal 7 to 10 days, it is preferrable to store them pointy side down and turn them an odd number of times daily.
Storing pointy side up is for longer terms of storage. Turning eggs stored pointy side up was not shown to improve hatchability. Eggs stored pointy side up should be inside an enclosure whether it is a plastic bag or a cooler. This is to reduce moisture loss.
Both methods work best if the storage temperature is around 60 degrees F. A humidity of around 60% is also beneficial.
