➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

@R2elk....my poults are around 3 weeks and i just moved them outside (since there is now a nice clean empty coop and run for them) my question is.....it’s temporarily dropping slightly below 60 overnight....should I run the cozy coop heater out there just in case?? they seemed to do fine last night and were at the window itching to get out this morning......
Mine have been off of heat since they were 2 weeks old but the ambient temperature where they were at the time got no lower than 70°F.

If the outside temperature is getting down to 60°F, the temperature in the coop will be warmer. A lot of it depends on how many of the poults that you have. If there are only a couple (2 or 3), I would be inclined to give them a little optional heat for another week. If there is a large group, they will be able to keep each other warm.

thanks...there’s only 2...lows supposed to be back up around 70+ by Friday but probably wouldn’t hurt to drop the heater in there on low...just in case!!

Novel :lau

No. No more clothes for you.

:lau

Don’t worry, I don’t actually want it lol

But I’m not allowed to buy any more clothes ever!?

have you made progress on your room reorganization? how did it go with the kennel owner and other job prospects?

For a while, not really, or at least like I got most of it done, but couldn’t make finish the last little bit forever but then today I tidied up a bit, put all the clothes away at least, and some stuff in drawers and bins, but I gotta redo it. Just threw them in there fast and made the bed cause we had some appraiser people coming today so did it fast. But it does look way better. But still need to put the books away and stuff and redo the clothes.

But the last like week, week and a half has just been insane too. My brother just got married on Saturday so it’s been a bit insane getting ready for that and everything. Especially since my mom’s whole family got here Thursday and they all just left yesterday (a couple of them left Tuesday but most left yesterday) so I’m finally just having a chance to breathe and I spent most of yesterday and today recovering from the chaos haha I was in it so it was a bit chaotic and Friday we went to the spa and then there was the rehearsal dinner and a welcome party/reception thing later too and then of course the wedding Saturday and it’s just been chaos and a whirlwind of getting up early and passing out early and wedding stuff haha it was fun, don’t get me wrong, but just craziness lol also.... not actual passing out, I don’t drink :lau

But anyway, this week should hopefully be back to normal.

And I haven’t gone over there or applied to anything yet.

But like I said it’s also been a bit chaotic around here lately.

But I did look into some though, spent a while looking at possible government jobs, but I nixed that.

And the dog thing, besides being busy, tbh I kinda purposely didn’t go over there cause I’m not sure I could handle being on my feet/that active all day every day. I thought I could but idk. My mom actually said it first and at first I got kinda mad but now I’m thinking she might be right. Idk. Plus I think she found them on indeed and I think it said you need experience which I don’t have. But then again we kind of have an in with the owner knowing her and I have spent tons of time around dogs and researching everything about them from behavior to training to breeds or whatever so I guess maybe that counts as experience. Idk. But they get a lot of dogs at that daycare and I get a little nervous around tons of them at once/pack type settings, they’re still animals. Idk. I think it could be good though.

Planning on looking at the movies or pet store though. Idk.

In the meantime, I’ve been getting more dog jobs. Last week DB & SIL hired me for the first time in a little while (they haven’t been using me much lately with everything going on or rather it’s kinda sporadic) so I walked them Tuesday then groomed them Wednesday before their photo shoot Saturday lol and then I’ve been occasionally picking up extra days for another client I usually only do once a week but lately it’s been twice quite a few times. Got asked today if I could do it twice again this week. Also got asked today to dog sit for someone else in October. Watched their dogs a several times before and I like them. They’re good dogs and the owners are family friends so I like doing it.

Business seems to really come and go though. Some weeks it’s really quiet and some weeks it’s a lot of business. It all seems to pour in at once too.

@RUNuts painting toes? What a brilliant idea!! How do you do it? With what? I did permanent marker before but it did not last long, they outgrow it and it washed when they step in the water.
Fingernail polish is what was suggested to me. This will be my first attempt. Otherwise a small zip tie, but check often to prevent getting too tight.
