@R2elk....my poults are around 3 weeks and i just moved them outside (since there is now a nice clean empty coop and run for them) my question is.....it’s temporarily dropping slightly below 60 overnight....should I run the cozy coop heater out there just in case?? they seemed to do fine last night and were at the window itching to get out this morning......

Add more huddle boxes?

they have the nesting boxes as it’s my chicken coop....only 2 silkies used the coop at all i the last few months and they slept together in 1 nesting box.....i have been putting the poults in and locking it up at dusk until they learn to go in on their own (if they ever do) my bronzes last year started roosting on top once they got bigger

Ehh, a little risk makes life fun.

I actually take quite a lot of risk with it. I’m always outside at dusk when they’re out more and rarely where bug spray or long clothes.

I’m actually a bit of an idiot about it lol

Gotta start being more careful.

The guy that just died had no bites on his whole body so he must have just gotten one tiny little bite from one. And he died.

They’re currently treating a horse with EEE on my vet campus... I started off thinking eh, it’s just a mosquito, no big deal but now I’m about ready to pull out the flamethrower whenever I hear a buzz

i’m probably going to have to butcher some birds this weekend......not sure why but 2 of my pastels have gotten scalped and something flushed one of my ringneck cockbirds out of the aviary yesterday he seems to be trying to get back home but we can’t catch him (and i’m sure the “neighbors” have been blowing up the city’s phone telling them there’s a loose chicken!!!) I really believe the jackass that complained is messing with them purposely as they have “suddenly” been in their yard more since the initial complaint than the entire time they’ve lived there!!! today he was “mowing for way longer than it takes to mow a small yard and then when i walked down the sidewalk to look at where we last saw “Limpy” they were all sitting on their front stoop!! (doesn’t even qualify as a porch)
