In all the pics you have very porous eggs. Yes, that's the air cell on the side, it happens sometimes but it's rare. The others to early to tell and the last few the air cell is in the right place.Anyone have any idea on my question/why it would be like that? (Last two posts)

Um...my grandpa used to call these something very different.

As did mine. He had an almond orchard and a few pecan and walnut trees but at the holidays, there was always a bowl of brazil nuts. Because those were considered exotic, I guess? And I didn't know what to call them but I knew his term wasn't correct so I just called them those big nuts that are hard to crack for the longest time.

Wikipedia even mentions it.

Ok, should have known it wasn't a bunch...you take lots of pics of the same thing! Now I need to go Google this other name lol
Well, I had just washed them not that long before if that would make them more porous? And put them in the fridge so they were in there for a bit before I took the pics. And huh, interesting. Is it made cause I hadn’t collected them for a bit so they sat there? Or cause she’s older or something? And it’s just two eggs, I just took a bunch of pics of them. They’re not fertile since we don’t have a rooster so not gonna hatch them, just was curious if that really was the air cell I was seeing and if being on the side was normal and the other pic was of a normal egg for comparison.
Ok, should have known it wasn't a bunch...you take lots of pics of the same thing!no offense!
I did notice the one with the black dot on it was the same egg, though. One of the pics looked like it was starting to develop...I guess it was just the way the light was hitting the yolk? It's not that uncommon for the air cell to be on the side...all the research I've done on it seems to be 'no one' knows for sure why it happens!

Yep, a lot of double yolk layers will have weird eggs and will stop laying sooner than normal layers. They have multiple defects with their reproductive systems, most of the time it leads to internal layers or they have EDS and peritonitis. It’s okay! No offense taken! Lol I do tend to take way too many pictures of everythingI wanted to get a bunch this time though to make sure it showed up, especially since I was having a hard time getting it to show up at first.
And yeah, it must have been!!! Unless I have a Virgin Mary chicken![]()
I wish they would develop! Want to hatch from one of the EEs cause she is an excellent layer, daily and in winter, but they are probably too old now
and no roo. Plus her eggs are really small lately.
And huh, interesting! Bunny is just a weird chicken anyway. She used to lay huge, often double yolked, blue eggs, then she slowed down a lot and at some point was even laying like grey eggs and then almost white eggs, they were like all sorts of different colors for like a week or two, then she stopped laying altogether and she frequently takes 6+ breaks![]()
