If it works as good as ours and it should, it will be great for you.I did consider this one and the 2/4. All had their +/-.

That should make your husband happy...lolWe're getting 4-7 inches of snow, or maybe more, or maybe less, today/tonight. While I was on my walk, I stopped to look at the beehive. Nobody was out, of course. I said, "Stay warm, girls. See you in a few months."
The low humidity really helps. That's just crazy cold. Don't think I could do it. I live in a moderate climate. We have hot days, cold days and a lot of beautiful temps in between.
Yes, that makes a difference. The low humidity really helps.
Dry is always better than humid. So dry cold is like dry heat?
Looks like they're working the block over pretty good. Made up 3 feeder shims today with 10 lbs sugar in each now drying. It was a pretty nice day today. The bees were out and about a little. Hubs wanted to see if they were utilizing the sugar blocks. They were.
This is Hive #2, one of the nuc's.

Yeah they're doing a good job on it.Looks like they're working the block over pretty good. Made up 3 feeder shims today with 10 lbs sugar in each now drying.
This is the only batch I make. Don't put them on until the boxes feel light on the heft. Last winter they didn't really use them. With this early cold coming in I have to really keep an eye on them. After the fall extraction, 100 lbs +/- they still had over 80 lbs + coming into winter. Another thing I do is take unrendered capping and let them clean it early spring when the weather warms.Yeah they're doing a good job on it.
Is that your first or second batch? Sorry, my brain can't remember...lol
