You just let me know when you're coming and the cake will be a-baking, LOL. Jim, the Orp fertility is sketchy at best these days, not sure exactly why, as I mentioned before. It goes in stretches of good, then bad (except for Smoky, usually). Those were really extras anyway; what I'm really hoping is that your Delawares will do well for you. Sounds like they have a good start!

very good start 23 out of 27

if those all hatch with the 17 PA Del's that's 40 little ones

can't wait.
With the Orp's even though they were extra's I have gotten excited about what will come out and really the Del's are for Kathy so these little ones are mine to look forward to.

If I wanted to hatch more after these guys, would you be willing to ship some eggs towards the end of the month? hopefully their fertility will be back on around then also.

We'll have to play it by ear, Jim, if that's okay with you. I hope at least the ones that are going now will continue to develop for you. Smoky produces some gorgeous babies with Suede.

If I must LOL

we are going to have baby central here with the Delaware hatching the BBS Orps hatching and we also have twelve day old chicks coming from the hatchery the same day as the hatch is due..

If all goes well it will be close to 60 chicks all at once. Yipee

Leave them babies alone...stop candling them. Poor things are gonna go blind with all the light shining in there

Gee, Smoky is the one I've been counting on to give us those babies. The unknown ones, do they look more like Smoky's or Dusty's? Skye's are the much larger ones, usually. Well, bad girls! They need to do better for me. I'm going to collect some this weekend to put in the bator for a customer, along with some Delawares, and I'll be able to check them here and see what's up with who. (we'll figure out how to get you more, even if I have to have some sent from someone else's flock)

Dels seem like they're doing great, though! I wouldn't candle them again till about Day 16 or 17. I usually candle about Day 9, then not again till around Day 16, unless it's one Ive marked to re-check.
